Rycroft is offering summer internships across Construction Management, Engineering, Health & Safety and Quantity Surveying.

These opportunities are designed for students looking to gain practical experience during their summer break, with exposure to live residential developments and the teams delivering them.

Working under the guidance of experienced colleagues, you will support your assigned team, apply your learning and build your understanding of the construction industry. Your tasks will reflect your course and level of experience.

Construction Management
  • Support the site team with the daily coordination of construction activities.
  • Assist with monitoring progress against the construction programme.
  • Help coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, materials and site logistics.
  • Attend site meetings and assist with recording and following up on actions.
  • Support quality inspections, snagging and site documentation.
  • Develop an understanding of construction sequencing and project delivery.
Engineering
  • Assist the engineering team with setting out, surveying and checking works.
  • Support the review of drawings, specifications and technical information.
  • Assist with site measurements, inspections and quality checks.
  • Help maintain engineering records and as-built information.
  • Support the tracking of technical queries and design updates.
  • Gain experience in construction methods and the use of surveying equipment.
Health & Safety
  • Support the Health & Safety team with site inspections and safety observations.
  • Assist with maintaining training, induction and inspection records.
  • Help prepare toolbox talk materials and safety communications.
  • Support the organisation and review of risk assessments and method statements.
  • Assist with recording hazards and tracking agreed corrective actions.
  • Participate in health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across the business.
Quantity Surveying
  • Assist with measurements and quantity take-offs from drawings.
  • Support the preparation of tender enquiries and quotation comparisons.
  • Help maintain procurement, subcontractor and commercial records.
  • Assist with valuations, variation tracking and cost reporting.
  • Attend site and commercial meetings.
  • Develop an understanding of budgeting, cost control and contract administration.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Students currently studying Construction Management, Civil or Structural Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
  • Availability to work during the summer.
  • An interest in residential construction and a willingness to learn.
  • Good communication, organisation and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to get involved.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to attend the assigned office or project location.
